Annie Howes: Interview With A Work At Home Mom

Welcome to the first episode of Work at Home Moms and Work at Home Dads podcast! I’m your host, Deborah Carney and I was a work at home mom for a whole lotta years. Now my daughter is a work at home mom that homeschools my 12 year old grandson. We have a great lineup of guests, but if you would like to join me on a podcast please fill out the form here.

I’m very pleased that my first guest is a work at home Mom that I watched for years, I dabbled in making jewelry and her name was everywhere it seemed, Annie Howes. She has managed to balance working from home with being a Mom for a number of years, and she is a great interviewee (is that a word?) My podcasts are all discussion style, they are informal and that suited Annie to a tee.

From Annie:
I have been a designer for over 15 years working in a variety of creative industries. I began my career as a designer working for a small stained glass company in downtown Lafayette, Indiana at the auspicious age of 14. There I was entrusted with my very first soldering iron. I eventually studied Visual Communications Design and was graduated from the West Lafayette Campus of Purdue University.

Through the course of my diverse career I have served honorably in the United States Navy, have designed for advertising agencies abroad, and have been an in-house designer for a CLC Licensed screen printer. In addition, I’ve spent many years producing work as a freelance designer.

I currently reside in sunny Arizona with my husband and beautiful daughter, and our four dogs.

In May of 2008 I launched the Original DIY Scrabble and Glass Craft Kits online. Since then, I’ve expanded upon the selection of kits involving glass, Scrabble tiles, and resin. These kits are a fun way to learn how to make a variety of jewelry with the highest quality materials. If you’re looking for a gift for a crafty friend, the kits are attractively packaged for gift giving. I continue to provide the only handmade crystal clear glass available. In addition to high quality handmade glass, I offer the best products that I’ve tested myself and have proved to be of excellent quality.
